Papaya Veterinary Care: Temporary Closure

Papaya Veterinary Care: Temporary Closure

Hey pet parents! Our main office is taking a short break from offering veterinary services.

As of February 2nd, 2023, our Carmel Valley, San Diego location will be temporarily closed for appointments.

Why Is Papaya Veterinary Care's Main Office Closing?

We know what you're thinking: What's going on here? Is Papaya Veterinary Care closing for good?

No, we're not going anywhere. In fact, we're closing so we can come back better than ever.

While we're away, we'll be taking time to restructure the business end of things. It's all part of our mission to provide your pets with the best available care—and you with the best possible service.

When Will the Office Reopen?

We don't have a grand reopening date just yet, but we're ironing out the details behind the scenes. Currently, we're looking at diving back into veterinary care in a couple of months. Once we have a date in mind, you'll be the first to know.

If you want to stay in the loop (and keep in touch while we're closed!), follow us on Instagram. And if you're not yet a part of the Papaya Veterinary Care Pet family, you can join our waitlist, and we'll touch base when we're up and running again.

What If I Need to Access My Pet's Records?

Easy peasy! Even though we're pausing our veterinary services, our administrative staff is still here to assist you. In-person visits are welcome during our regular business hours (Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm).

Here's what our lovely office staff can help you with while our veterinary services are on hold:

  • Access to records – If you or another veterinarian need to review your pet's medical history, we can provide you with a copy in no time.
  • Administrative inquiries – We can answer any questions about your insurance claims and past payments.
  • Retail sales – Our curated selection of pet goods and accessories is still ready and waiting.

Prefer to stay home? No worries. If you don't feel like making the trip here, you can contact us at any time by:

  • Phone – Give us a ring at (619) 880-8986. If you reach our voicemail, we'll return your call as soon as we can.
  • Email – Send your questions or concerns to [email protected], and we'll get back to you pronto.

What If My Pet Needs Urgent Care?

In case of an emergency, please head to your nearest animal hospital or 24/7 clinic. Papaya Veterinary Care's team of veterinarians won't be in to examine your pet until we resume our veterinary services.

When we're up and running again, we'll be happy to assist you with any follow-up visits.

What Can I Expect When Papaya Veterinary Care Reopens?

When our main office opens its doors once more, we'll jump right back into offering our same services with the same sky-high standards of care. As a reminder, we provide the following services:

General Wellness Exams

Whether you have a brand new kitten who needs her first checkup or a senior dog who just celebrated his twelfth birthday, our team can manage your pet's overall health. Our routine examinations center around preventative care; we address any concerns that come up before they become health issues.

During a general wellness exam, our veterinarians can provide guidance around:

  • Diet
  • Exercise
  • Weight management
  • Lifestyle

Vaccinations

We do everything from new kitten and puppy shots to routine vaccinations. Vaccinating your pet is part of preventative care and can protect your dog or cat from various diseases.

And because we know how stressful needles can be (even for us humans), we've created a welcoming Fear Free® space for your pet. With species-specific rooms and pheromone diffusers aplenty, we do everything we can to make the experience stress-free for everyone involved.

Dental Services

We're here to keep your pet's pearly whites pearly and white. Our in-house dental clinic, offers full-service dental visits for cats and dogs. Our veterinarian technicians are oral hygiene specialists who can take care of regular cleanings, checkups, and—if necessary—dental surgery.

Surgeries

Wondering if surgery may be necessary? Looking to schedule a procedure? We offer many pet surgery options, including foreign body removal, c-sections, and more.

We recognize that surgery can be intimidating for pet parents, which is why we're always here for you. From pre-op Q&As to post-op plans, our highly-skilled veterinarians are at your service.

Spay and Neuter Services

We all love puppies and kittens, but we're also aware of the problems that pet overpopulation can cause. With that in mind, we offer your pets early-life spay and neuter services.

Aside from keeping animals out of our shelters, spaying or neutering your pet has health and behavioral benefits. Our veterinarians can help you determine the best time to neuter or spay your cat or dog.

We'll See You Soon

Above all, when we return, you can expect to receive the same stress-free approach to veterinary care we've always offered.

From all of us at Papaya Pet Veterinary Care, thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to seeing your pet and you soon!
